It’s been almost a year since we said goodbye. But days aren’t the right measure. Our goodbye wasn’t the passage of time. It was the passage from one existence to another, a world with you and world without. The end of an epoch. I think often of the earlier landscape. There were no fault lines, no major earthquakes. Just drift. Sometimes it felt like we were staring at each other across canyons. People of different lands. But that connection was always there, even when it felt buried beneath oceans. We’re still Pangea. In your absence, I see you more and more in the very shape of me.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear from you. A comment, a share, or even just a like goes a long way. Writing into the void is its own practice, but knowing the work lands makes it easier to keep showing up.

Great poem, Tim.
